Health Affairs Specialist in Portugal: The National Health Service is currently recruiting technicians in the field of health and medical care, with the income for this new profession expected to increase by approximately 100 euros per month.
Negotiations for the establishment of this new specialization within the National Health Service concluded on Tuesday, November 15th. According to this report, qualified specialists who perform the relevant duties in the unified units of the National Health Service are eligible, regardless of the type of employment relationship.
The report also states that, in terms of salary, transitioning to the profession of Health Affairs Specialist will come with an increase of approximately 100 euros per month, equivalent to a 13% raise. The base salary for this profession will reach 869.74 euros in 2024.
About 24,000 workers engaged in the provision of health services will be covered by this initiative. This new profession, Health Affairs Specialist, signifies job creation for experts and their role in the performance of health services and care delivery to the population, benefiting the National Health Service.
This initiative, scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2024, also reflects the government's appreciation for the dedication and collaboration of affiliated associations throughout the negotiation process. This collaboration has facilitated the strengthening and motivation of healthcare workers and, concurrently with this initiative, has advanced the requalification of the leading National Health Service, ensuring improved and expanded access to healthcare services.
